Have you ever telephoned someone with the expectation that they would be there to answer or either call you back? So many messages sent. Have you ever written someone and each day anxiously watched for the postal worker to see if he or she had your special letter in hand?
My, it seemed as if the days and weeks grew longer and longer as you hopefully waited for that precious letter. Was your message or call full of unanswered questions? Maybe there was a need to express thanks for some kindness shown to you or a longing to reach an understanding.
So Many Messages
Have you ever thought, thought and thought again about a loved one until you began to feel uneasy? I know the feeling.
This Is My Story
Well, this is my story. So many cards and gifts; so many messages sent, all without response. So many years of sending messages can lead to discouragement and disappointment. On Sunday morning, as I was sitting in the church window, pondering, praying, and getting ready for the service, my message was being answered. Not only was it answered but it was hand-delivered right to the door.
If I May But Touch His Garment
In amazement, I witnessed that very special message being answered. Would I reach out for the answer, not knowing if or when I would have such an opportunity again? Absolutely! And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole [Matthew 9:20-21]. What would I do? Like the woman with the issue of blood, Jesus had passed by with my answered message. Would I reach out to grab it and claim it as my own? Would I let fear, doubt, and frustration rob me of such an opportunity?
Will I Reach Out?
And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him. Jesus had already passed her by but it wasn't too late. She could still have her miracle. She could still get what she needed from the Lord. She made the decision. Not looking to anyone else to see what he or she thought, she concluded, For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. She got it! She got what she needed from the Lord. She reached out beyond fear and apprehension and received that all-out miracle. She reached beyond doubt. She reached beyond her terminal condition. She reached beyond what the skeptics has concluded about her condition. She reached out. She reached out and was made whole from that same hour.
Come On In
"Hi," I boldly stated. "Come on in and meet the people. Hey, everyone come and meet my sister. Come and meet my sister, Bridget." All aglow, it seemed an eternity, just those few minutes but it was real. It was really happening. My sister was in the same place that I worshiped and honored God. It seemed that I had waited so long for an answer, even felt my faith failing at times but there she was. Oh, my sister, Bridget, seemed so far away from me for so many years. Misunderstandings has robbed us and robbed us but no more. We were one, under the same roof. I thought I would certainly faint from it all. What a wonderful miracle had been given to me.
As I Served God
As I continued to serve God, the answer came. As I continued to love the Lord with all of my heart, the answer came. As I continued to trust Him, the answer came.
Now we serve God together.
Welcome Bridget, DeWayne and Nia. I sure do love you.
"Yes" God Is Answering
My message had been answered. Be encouraged and know that "Yes, God is answering --- He's answering messages".
