"And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul" Acts 4:32(a)
The Greatest Miracle DECEMBER 2003

Seasons Greetings!

The greatest miracle. Have you ever thought about what the greatest miracle was in the bible? The greatest miracle. There are so many of them. What do you think was the greatest miracle ever in the bible?

Matthew 1:18,21 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost [21] And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now some people may say that the greatest miracle ever was when Jesus Christ was born. Truly, that was a miracle. As you go on and read in chapter two, you'll see where the kings came and said, "Where is He? We know that the baby Jesus is here. For we have seen His star. Where is He? We know that He is here." That wasn't the greatest miracle ever. Have you ever thought about Joseph and Mary? There she is, Mary, carrying the Savior of the whole world. There they go on that camel. Joseph, in his place as he pulled the camel that carried Mary. What was Mary's concern? "I am carrying the Saviour of the world. God has entrusted me with so much. He has entrusted me with the spotless lamb -- the only redeemer for mankind." The Saviour of the world. Mary is just riding along, not worrying about anything but what she is carrying on the inside. I tell you when you have the Saviour of the world, you have everything that you need. You have it all. Did you think that that was the greatest miracle ever? Just imagine the Holy Ghost himself overshadowed Mary with the Bright and Morning Star, our Redeemer and Soon Coming King. Isn't that something to think about? The skeptics are all around us, predicting and speculating, even in our day, about this great miracle. You either believe the whole bible or you believe none of it. If you don't believe in miracles you don't believe in Jesus. It's just that plain and simple. When you really love Jesus, it's easy to reason with God -- it's easy to believe. As you travel this road with God, following His Son in total obedience, He supplies the understanding but first must come total obedience. Jesus makes the word so fascinating through the ultimate anointings.

Genesis 21: 1-4 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. Did you think that the birth of Isaac was the greatest miracle? There they were, Abraham and Sarah, well past childbirth years, giving birth to the promised son, Isaac, just as God had promised more than 20 years earlier. God said it and that was all that mattered. Abraham waited patiently for over 20 years for the promise to be fulfilled. It certainly was the greatest miracle in the life of Abraham, outside of God calling him, I can assure you. The Lord had promised, "In your seed, the nations of the earth shall be blessed. It is through you that I will bless the nations, Abraham." Wasn't that something? Did you think that was the greatest miracle? Boy, what a wonder Sarah must have been to her friends and the like. Can you see her as she goes to market, just glowing -- illuminating as the promise is being fulfilled right before her eyes. There she was after years and years of scorn, now her God was on center stage as He did what no other god could or will ever be able to do. God, the only giver of Life. Did you think that was the greatest miracle? It was a wonderful miracle indeed.

St. John 2:1-5, 10 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, they have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants. Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. [10] And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse; but thou hast kept the good wine until now. The greatest miracle. Surely in Jesus' day, they thought this was great and wonderful. Now, there it is Salvation, plain and simple. Salvation is no different today. Just do what God instructs you to do through His Son, Jesus. We, as church leaders, officials, and lay people, have made salvation so difficult. We have caused people to mock God because we have not been good stewards of God's word. We have made salvation appear hard when in actuality it is so very simple. Obeying the Lord. That's it. It is just that simple. When you have a real born-again experience, you are new. You are new from that very moment the very second that you surrender a life of sin for a life of grace. II Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. You can only grow in grace after you receive grace. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. You grow because of the blood of Jesus as you yield to the blood. Grace is grace and sin is sin, not to be confused. Some believe that you can be saved but still hold onto some of the attributes of the world; smoking, drinking, fornicating, lying, and all the rest as recorded in Galatians 5:19-21. Not so. When you are born new, you are new through and through. There is no more sin in you. I John 3:8-9 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. If the seed of God is in you, you won't -- can't sin, without willfully leaving Christ. If you sin, then there is no longer salvation. You are not saved. Sin and salvation do not mix.

We, as church leaders, officials, and lay people have failed in cultivating the "baby" Christian or new convert. So many believe that once they accept Jesus their lives are "great from here on out." We have to instruct and teach people that from the time you give your life to Jesus, it is time to fight and conquer through the power that's in the blood. The blood becomes yours to use and possess when you have salvation. We will have all the power that Jesus had when He was here on earth. The key is total obedience, dedication, and consecration unto Him. His hands will then be untied to move for you in miraculous ways unbelievable ways. Salvation costs. Salvation costs. Salvation costs your very life, that's all.

Maybe you thought that turning the water to wine was the greatest miracle ever. No, that was simply the first miracle performed by Jesus after fasting 40 days in the wilderness and being baptized in the Holy Ghost. Notice, Jesus didn't perform one miracle until after the long fast of 40 days. We must follow in the same steps of fasting and being baptized in the good Holy Ghost if we plan to do the same works and have the same power. There is no other way to get the work done that must be done in this final hour -- prayer, fasting, and living the word of God. It took great power to change the water into wine.

Did you think that when the water was turned to wine that was the greatest miracle? St. John 11:1-4,11-12 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. [11-12] These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. The greatest miracle. Have you ever given it any thought? Out of the whole bible, what was the greatest miracle? Now notice the confidence in Jesus' voice. Lazarus is sleeping. Jesus was so sure, so sure. Jesus had such a hard time getting the disciples to use the six spiritual senses before Pentecost. At times the disciples were proclaiming "Why, He is -- He is the Son of God." And at other times, "Why, what manner of conversation is this? Speak plainly to us, Master." [39] Jesus said, take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Well, there's Martha, running frantic, while Mary just waited until being called for by the Master. Jesus said take ye away the stone. Some people may have wondered, "Now if Jesus had the power to raise Lazarus, why did he tell Mary and Martha to take away the stone?" Jesus wanted both Mary and Martha to use their faith. He wanted them to do what they could do and He would do the rest. It's the same principle for us today. Do what you can do and Christ will do the rest but be sure to give your best. This will enable Him to do the rest. Mary and Martha could move the stone and Jesus would raise the dead. Jesus can and is ready to raise the dead in our lives, if we would only let Him. Jesus will never go against our will. We were born with free will but what a gift we would gain if we would give our will in exchange for the divine will of God. Oh, how great it is. [41-44] Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go. Maybe you thought this was the greatest miracle. Lazarus was dead and bond. Not only did Jesus have to give him life but also He had to set Lazarus free once he was resurrected. He gave him life and then set him free. Life and freedom. Did you think this was the greatest miracle?

St. John 3:1-7 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.

The Gift of Salvation

The greatest miracle ever is the gift of salvation. The greatest miracle ever in each life is the gift of salvation. Nicodemus -- he was a ruler. He was well known and a scholar yet he sought Jesus out by night. What was he looking for? He was in search of the greatest miracle ever and he found it. I tell you on today I would do whatever it took to have possession of that great miracle -- that great and awesome gift given by God Himself through the greatest gift He possessed -- Jesus, the Christ.

Nicodemus was a ruler of the Jews. Notice this. He was a scholar. He was well known in his field but yet he needed this miracle. It doesn't matter where you come from or where you have been. It doesn't matter about your race, age or economic status; we all need this great gift the greatest miracle -- the gift of salvation. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Salvation -- that's the greatest miracle ever. Some people may say, "Well, I received a miracle for cancer." Others may say, "I received a miracle for this or for that." What good is all of that if at the end of your life you don't have the Blood of Jesus on your soul? You have no passport to get into God's heaven. No blood-redeemer to substitute for you. The greatest miracle ever is the gift of salvation. Now, notice this, Nicodemus had to seek Jesus out at night. He didn't want his friends to know he didn't really have it all together as he supposed. He didn't want the world to know and those who were under his authority to know, "It's something mystical about this Jesus and I've got to find out, no matter the cost. I don't have it all together but I must see this man called Jesus. I am compelled to Him. I've got to find out!"

Some of us are like Nicodemus looking good on the outside but on the inside we are haunting about in search of the man called Christ. We don't want anyone to know we are searching, looking, and crying at night, "Oh, God if you are real, show me the way." Let your searching stop here -- stop now -- stop today.

When you have Jesus, you have it all. The world can be full of mishaps and trouble but on the inside of you there will be an Eden. There, you will find the Lily of the Valley. "Yes," the Brightest Jewel of Heaven, beckoning you to come and dine with Him. Oh, don't resist Him. Don't you feel the great love tug in your heart? Child of God it's God -- it's your Lord. He wants you to have this great miracle -- the greatest miracle is the gift of salvation. Come and dine. Can't you hear the Master calling you now? He's been waiting for such a moment. Oh, how Jesus loves you. He can do for you what no other power can do. Jesus, He's the great miracle that you need. Open your heart's door and let Him in. He comes with great joy, peace, and full of glory.

Why not give God an opportunity in your life. God is waiting to use you if you would only give Him a chance. Please repeat this simple prayer with me, asking Jesus to cleanse you of all unrighteousness. He is able to restore, create, deliver, and most importantly, save you. He is willing. He is ready. He wants you, dear one. No one has ever loved you like Jesus. He does love you.

Oh, God! I have sinned against you. I am so sorry! I have come home, and I'm going to serve you, Lord, the rest of my life. I do believe. I do believe that you are able to deliver me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I believe that the blood of your Son, Jesus Christ, can make me clean and whole. Come on into my heart and help me. Help me, Lord. I trust and believe that through the blood, I can make it. I do believe that I can make it with your help. Oh, Lord, I want your help. Save my soul. Come on into my heart, Jesus! Come in!

If you meant that prayer, He has come.

Praise Him, He is Yours!

I Can Have a New Life

by Daniel Green, age 12

I Can Have a New Life
By Being Washed in the Blood of Jesus
I Love the Lord With All of My Heart
And I Can Be Made New
Through the Holy Ghost and
Loving the Blood of Jesus Christ
I Love You Jesus, from Daniel.

Who Is That?

He does everything His own way
He doesn't let anything stand in His way
He stays quiet all day long
At night, His words of wisdom are just right
He has a big heart, no one could compare
He knows my every move and my every thought
He stands tall and hears my every doubt
At the end of the day I pray to see another
He dislikes the sin; the reason for the cross
Yet we all know he died on that same cross
And to say who is that?
Just think . . .
It's that man who spared our lives
Instead of being left under we are rising above
He was bruised, beaten and pierced in His side
But He did it for us
His one and only Bride
His blood was shed to save all our lives
In this final hour, I wish to be with Him
So I can kneel down to His feet and
Praise my Lord like there's no tomorrow
So I can eat of His bread and drink of His wine
So I can be free and home at last
No, I say to the burning pits of hell
Yes, I say to everlasting life in heaven
And when I kneel down at His feet
I shall look up and say . . .
Hail King Jesus
I am Home at last
