I Samuel 16:11-12 And Samuel said unto Jesse, are here all thy children? And he said, there remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy [reddish], and withal of a beautiful countenance [beautiful human face] and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, arise, anoint him: for this is he.
The Lord Is Separating
The Lord is now separating a people from the midst of a separated people who will seek to do His whole will, no matter the cost. It doesn't matter what others think of us. No, it doesn't matter what we think. What matters what really matters -- is what God knows. He knows all. He knows what we are capable of doing for Him, if only given a chance. In this final hour, the Lord is going to and fro seeking to use any and every yielded person to accomplish the great task that is set before us helping take this gospel to the world. II Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
Look Not On His Countenance
The Lord knows what's best. He knows better than we, what we are capable of. I Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
I Samuel 17:4-5 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.
The people needed a warrior. They needed someone who would be fearless against this Goliath. Saul and all Israel were dismayed and greatly afraid of Goliath. Who would fight for them? Who would go into battle and save them from this monstrous giant?
Who Is This Philistine?
I Samuel 17:26,32 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, what shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? And David said to Saul, let no man's heart fail because of him, thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. David go and fight this giant? How could how would it ever be possible? God was on his side. God made all the difference in this battle. God would grant David such a battle. We know that God never changes. He is the same forever more.
Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
David Suited For War
David was encouraged by Saul to be suited with his [Saul's] armour. David needed no man's armour. He was ready. He had been prepared for his great hour of battle. Remember, David had killed in the name of the Lord before. Once he had killed a bear and delivered a lamb out of a lion's mouth. God had made him ready for his great hour with Goliath. Will you allow the Lord to make you ready for your great hour? Will you give Him an opportunity with your life? With God on our side, we will go all the way.
Are You Ready To Fight?
There were many standing around, wishing they could slay the giant but none were ready. This is an hour of great, great preparation. We can't afford to get ready when God begins to move with His greatness. We must take much time NOW in prayers and fastings to be ready. Now is the time to rise up like David did. Today is the day of salvation. He refused to carry the armour of another.
The bride has the same cry in her heart today. "God will supply. My God will supply all that is needed" Phil 4:19. There are many giants in the land in this final hour. We must look to Jesus, the great captain of our lives. Looking to Him for every source of strength. We are complete in Him. He is the reason we will conquer all. It will be by His power. As we yield to the blood of Jesus, we will slay each and every Goliath that comes our way. Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
So Many Lives
What if David hadn't answered the call? What would have happened to all those [souls] waiting for the victory? There were so many lives that depended upon David's victory. So many lives depend on us in this last and final hour. This is no time to turn back. This is no hour to feel sorry for past failures, mistakes and disappointments. Put it all under the blood and keep on going. Keep on going. God is the great captain of our army. He is willing to help all honest-hearted people along this great journey. There is much to be done and we can't risk making the wrong moves going into unnecessary valleys carrying the weight of this world. The day is far spent and soon the Master will return. We must be ready. We must all allow the Holy Spirit to get us ready.
We Must Be Taught
The Holy Spirit must work through the mind. We must be taught through the mind. I Cor. 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. We must be free of our opinions daily and seek the mind of Christ. In that mind is total victory. Total victory. There will be no defeat for the bride in this final hour. We will be guided by the greatness of God through His ultimate anointings. Place great, great value on the things of God. Take time to be with Him. Let Him unlock the mysteries of His wonderful Word.
The Bible Is Our Daily Bread
The Bible is our food, our daily bread, heaven's strength and power for each born-again believer. When we neglect to feed our mind the right things, we make the wrong decisions. Just as the physical man needs calcium, iron and other nutrients, the mind needs to be nourished with the Word of God. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Place much value on the Word of God like never before. Maybe you have viewed it as just another book. No, take another look. It's your life; it's the meat of the word for your soul. That's what David drew from. Have you ever thought about it? Why was he victorious? Where did he get the strength? Why didn't he buckle at the sight of Goliath? Why, David never once staggered at the appearance of the mammoth, swelling giant. He knew that God was with him. There was no doubt in his mind. He had made himself ready holy, pure, consecrated and dedicated. His father, Jesse, had taught him the ways of the Lord. He was taught the importance of putting God first. He placed value on God and David knew he would kill the giant in the name of the Lord. "In the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou has defied. Down you'll go, this day, Goliath." Can you see him? Can you see him? Look, there is David so unafraid of "what could" happen. He knew that he was just a man with God on his side.
He Was Just A Man!
That's the difference -- God on our side. David, after all, was ruddy, young and of a fair countenance. What could he do? He couldn't accomplish anything but the God of all flesh knew no limitations. He knows no defeat if we would keep His hands untied for us. This is the hour of total obedience, leaving all behind that would hinder us. Leaving all behind that may have caused us to be lukewarm or weak here and there. Turning aside from all that would take our attention, we are running ever onward. Yes, it's ever onward in this great journey for the Lord.
This blood gospel is now reaching into nations once owned by the devil but now the fight is on and God is winning. The multitudes are crying, "What must I do? What must I do to be saved?" The bride's right there, showing the way to a Calvary full of grace and power. Oh, how great it is. Once forgotten but no more. God is so kind and merciful to everyone who is seeking to find him for their lives. Only if we would be like David, forsaking all other armour but that which Jesus wore when he was here on earth. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
The Armour Of The World
Like Saul, the world is a promoting a materialistic god, one full of material wealth and fame. The armour of the world is full of deceit and false peace. It won't last. The world's armour is full of disappointments and dark paths. We, like David, must shake off everything that is false and hold only onto that which is pure, clean and holy. We must desire the divine will of God from our innermost beings. St. John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
David's great victory saved the lives of so many but the key was preparation. He made himself ready through seeking God. What Goliath will you slay today? Do you have on your armour? Oh, it doesn't matter what you think about it. God is calling you. He is calling you with a voice, a voice of love; and His Holy Spirit is pleading with each one day and night; ever onward, ever onward, ever onward, to keep our minds stayed upon the Lord so we can be kept in perfect peace, in perfect peace so that the Lord can use us. Just think what peace David had as he put that rock into his sling. There was no doubt. He knew that Goliath would drop. He knew that "this day," God would get the victory. David was just a man with God on his side.
I Samuel 17:44-47 And the Philistine said to David, come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beats of the field. Then said David to the Philistine, thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smith thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hands.
So David Prevailed
I Samuel 17:50-51 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and draw it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistine saw their champion was dead, they fled.
God Is Waiting To Use You
David was just a man with God on his side. Why not give God an opportunity in your life. God is waiting to use you if you would only give Him a chance. Please repeat this simple prayer with me, asking Jesus to cleanse you of all unrighteousness. He is able to restore, create, deliver, and most importantly, save you. He is willing. He is ready. He wants you, dear one. No one has ever loved you like Jesus. He does love you. Remember, David was just a man with God on his side. You can stand as tall as David today.
